The Backyard Reporters

KMRE Radio reached out to me via LinkedIn asking if I could volunteer my time to design the cover art for their new program, The Backyard Reporters. The process was a fun journey with a great client! Visit the KMRE Radio website to learn more about The Backyard Reporters and give it a listen.

During the process of creating this cover art, I met with the client many times. These meetings were crucial to be able to understand the needs of the client and receive feedback on how to continue to move forward with the graphic. The process was a classic workflow of moving from thumbnail sketches into digital refinement. The visual elements were changed throughout the process, going from a silhouette of a person holding a microphone towards the viewer, to an exchange of the microphone between hands. This exchange highlighted the community-driven nature of the show that was extremely important to the client. The overall goal of this cover art was to accurately convey the idea and feeling associated with the new show, which in the end, was successful.
